Cultural Perception

The other day I was speaking to Shahida, the HR manager, and office in Pakistan.
I had noticed the email from one of our coworkers here in the states.

I pointed this out to her and was completely taken aback by her comment.
“Who is going to cook for them?”

I thought this was so funny.
Here I was commenting on the fact that Jay was homosexual.
Kind of, a surprise to me.

Her only concern was who would cook for them.

It never ceases to amaze me how I take things for granted and interpret them
in accordance with my cultural background and the people I deal with have a totally different outlook.

This is so refreshing and is what is so interesting about working with other cultures throughout the world.
