Dim Sum in Lower Manhattan New York

When I was living in New York City, my fondest memories invariably involve eating.

There is no better place the to go to China Town for Dim Sum.

The best places have big round table where communal eating is the norm. You can watch with the “real” Chinese are eating then order the same.

The food comes on carts that have so many varieties – it is mind boggling. The carts usually are organized around a style or category: fried, steamed, dumplings, chicken, chicken parts ( did you ever try chicken feet or heads) beef, etc. You get the picture.

The place ci like is huge. Seats at least 700 people and serves dim sum early in the day.

The carts come by, you point to the selection, they serve it family style and put a mark on your check. This is a chinese symbol of some kind and you have no idea what you’re spending until you go to pay. I must say I have never been disappointed or shocked at the price of the meal.

The most fun is watching people eat and just plain have fun eating.

Eating can be so much fun and totally enjoyable – if you take the time to enjoy it.
